Andy Hayes, publisher of Sharing Travel Experiences, recently wrote a “Foodie’s Guide To Austin, Texas” where he highlights the best spots to eat in Austin. For Mexican food Andy says Guero’s is the best in Austin!

It is no surprise that some of the best food in Austin is Mexican-inspired.  But many of the restaurants in Austin serve what I’d call Tex-Fresh-Mex: fun and light ingredients, without all the lard and salt.  And they’re BIG into tacos, maybe just a little obsessive if I may say so.  Gueros takes top marks for great service, a fantastic menu, and terrific ambience at their venue on South Congress.  Portions are a healthy size without being obscene.  Try an Al Pastor taco which is topped with pork, cilanto, and pineapple: great for those warm sunny Austin days.  And don’t forget the queso!

We would like to personally thank Andy for his kind words. We work very hard to give our customers the best experience possible.

On his foodie blog “Super Asada“, blogger Bob Banks recounts his many dining experiences during SXSW. One place he highlights more than once is Guero’s. Bob says we’re good, we’re cheap, and we make the best margaritas anywhere.

…So with heaps of praise and Hollywood floozies hanging out there it’s easy for a bitter man like me to hate on a place like Guero’s.

But I can’t.

Because the food is really good, really cheap, and they make some of the most hyper-bitchin margaritas you’ll ever get.

We would like to personally thank Bob Banks and the many thousands of people who came to Guero’s during SXSW. We had a great time seeing everybody and we hope your experience with us was a good one. Don’t be a stranger, come back and see us again real soon!
